Injury Update

Nick van Ingen to miss start of season after dislocating shoulder

The start of the 2016 PWA Freestyle World Tour starts in just over 2 weeks, but unfortunately Nick van Ingen (Fanatic / North / Maui Ultra Fins) will be missing from the fleet after suffering a dislocated shoulder just before the start of the season.

Nick van Ingen had this to say after suffering an injury at the worst possible time: “The moment you seriously feel there is something wrong... last week during my session I dislocated my shoulder, really simple just with a waterstart. There must have been a wind gust or something like that. While grabbing my board to get back on the good position  it happend, I felt directly that my shoulder dislocated. Luckily with loads of adrenaline I managed to waterstart and sail back to the beach.. I went to the hospital because it wouldn't go back in normal position..  Finally after some checks they managed to get my shoulder back in position. They took some photos to check if everything was good.. next week I have to go back to the hospital for a second check.. Then we will make a plan and see if I need a surgery or it can back to the old strengt or even better just by training.. Lets hope everything is still in the good position so I can get back on power ! This is the worst start of the season ever and I will do my best to get back stronger !  See here my latest movie with some action before the session when it went wrong. I also wanna wish all the riders loads of wind and luck during the first stop of the tour this year.”

Everyone from the PWA would like to wish Nick a speedy and successful recovery.
