Cold Hawaii 2016

netIP new title sponsor of the Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup

A perfect match: The Danish IT company netIP has signed up to become the new title sponsor for the Cold Hawaii Windsurf World Cup in Klitmøller, Denmark, the most interactive event on the PWA World Tour in wave-performance. Between September 19th and 25th, windsurf fans from around the globe can again look forward to a perfectly planned, thrilling live program which will be broadcast via webcast requiring nothing but a computer and a fast internet connection.

For the little fishing village Klitmøller it will be the seventh time to host the PWA World Tour. Reliably delivering perfect conditions with strong winds and up to six meter waves, it was with each edition that the area named ‘Cold Hawaii’ proved to be one of the world’s top places for wavesailing – setting the stage for the world’s best windsurfers to claim for the supreme title every time.

The netIP Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup marks the half way stage in this year’s wave tour and after the unfortunate news that Philip Köster (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) has been ruled out for the season, the door is now wide open for the current tour leader Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / NorthSails / MFC / Shamal Sunglasses) to further cement his place at the top of the rankings. The Spaniard has performed perfectly thus far with two wins out of two and he could be within touching distance of a second world crown by the end of the event.

Robert Sand, organiser: "We are super excited to present netIP as the title sponsor for this year’s Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup. netIP – our new title sponsor – is a local company that doesn’t only help with the digital infrastructure needed for the event, but also joins a list of almost entirely local businesses that back the event and therefore the process of building Cold Hawaii as a brand. It is important for us to have strong partners like netIP, that believe in the area and are willing to invest in the development of not only Cold Hawaii, but the whole region as a destination for tourists and new settlers. We are sure this will be another great year of action here in Cold Hawaii and are looking forward to September 19th!"

Victor Fernandez, current leader of the PWA World Tour ranking: ”I’ve been in Klitmøller since around the 10th September to get used to the Cold Hawaii conditions. I am looking forward to competing in Klitmøller as it’s one of my favourite stops of the PWA World Tour. I love the town, conditions and the people, who are committed with all their hearts and souls.”
