Maaike Huvermann ready to challenge for top honours after latest performance

Two-time PWA Youth Freestyle World Champion, Maaike Huvermann (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins), looks as though she is ready to challenge for top honours next year after her latest video.

The 18 year old has finished the last two seasons in 3rd place overall, but judging by her progress through the winter it looks as though she will be competing to go at least one place better next year, but could she be the one to challenge Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Mystic / Maui Ultra Fins)?

Huvermann’s homespot is Brouwersdam, Holland, which has produced a plethora of world class freestylers — including reigning world champion Dieter Van der Eyken (Starboard / Severne) — and it it looks to have produced the next big women’s freestyle talent.

In Huvermann’s latest video she rotates through a combination of sliding moves such as technical bobs and double spocks to some of the latest power moves with big regular konos and super smooth skopus now in her ever expanding repertoire.

Maaike Huvermann: “Hey guys! The last couple of months I've had some good fun on the water in Holland! I've been really busy studying, but I've managed to spent some hours on the water and make some progress! Check out the result in this little action clip! :)”
