Preseason Anticipation

Lena Erdil sets sights on becoming world champion ahead of new season

Lena Erdil (Patrik / Point-7 / Mystic / AL360) enjoyed a fantastic 2014 as she won the PWA Slalom Indoor World Championship, whilst also finishing the season as the PWA Vice-World Champion, second only to Delphine Cousin (Starboard / Loft Sails). However, the twenty-six year old isn’t content to rest on her laurels and has now set her sights even higher as she aims to become world champion in 2015.

Last year saw an intriguing battle with plenty of close fought, hard racing and now there’s only a few days to go until the first slalom event of the season, which will take place in Jinha Beach, South Korea, between the 1st-6th May. There are currently nineteen of the world’s fastest women registered for the opening slalom event of the year and we can expect to see more exhilarating racing especially with Cousin, Erdil and Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Mystic / Maui Ultra Fins) all preparing to line up against each other. This year’s racing is shaping to be more closely contested than ever before.

As always you’ll be able to follow the high octane slalom live by tuning into www.pwaworldtour.com. For now though take a look at Erdil’s latest video, which can be found here.
