Davidoff Cool Water Sylt PWA World Cup

As predicted the wind was very light on day four of the Davidoff Cool Water PWA Sylt World Cup, but there was still plenty of people soaking up the stunning sunshine on what proved to be a very relaxing day.

With no wind on Day 4 we thought we’d take a look at how the rankings would stand in the event of no further racing:

After yesterday’s victory in race one Matteo Iachino (Fanatic / North) would currently assume control of the title race — with a narrow lead over Antoine Albeau (RRD / NeilPryde), who finished third in yesterday’s race. 

Pierre Mortefon (Fanatic / North) may have been knocked out in the quarterfinals yesterday, but would retain his place on the podium as he would be able to discard the result to stay ahead of Ross Williams (Tabou / GA Sails / Mystic), who would remain solid in fourth place. 

Cedric Bordes (Tabou / GA Sails) recorded his best result in an elimination this season in the opening race yesterday as he took home second place, which would see the Frenchman move above teammate Ben Van der Steen (Tabou / GA Sails) into fifth place, whilst Van der Steen would drop one place to sixth.

The other changes in the top ten would see Steve Allen (Starboard / Severne) moving up one place into seventh, whilst Julien Quentel (RRD / NeilPryde) and Antoine Questel (Starboard / GA Sails) would both rise into the top ten — eighth and ninth respectively. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (Starboard / Point-7) would complete the top ten.

Looking Ahead

With the forecast for tomorrow looking very light again the current plan is to run a Vodafone tow-in expression session with registration taking place from 10 O’clock — followed by the trials/practise session at 11am, before the world’s best battle it out for the €2,000 prize purse at 3pm.
