PWA Event ::: Detailed Information
2008 Costa Teguise, Lanzarote
Event Location Info
Lanzarote has only one airport (Guacimeta) that lies between Arrecife (capital) and the popular town of Puerto del Carmen. The airport was recently modernized and is home to many restaurants, bars and shops. Retail hours are generally between 7:30am and 10:00pm daily. Foreign currency is accepted in all outlets and there are plenty of bank machines to obtain Euros. There are many airlines that operate scheduled flights to Lanzarote on a regular basis. A comprehensive list of these, can be seen at www.lanzarote.com/lineasaereas-in.html
Taxis are plentiful throughout the island and in general are not very expensive. You can hail a cab in the street, provided you see an illuminated green light, or you can call for one. Fares run between 1.14€ and 1.74€ per kilometer, depending on the company. By the way, cash is the only accepted form of payment and tipping, according to the Spanish, is usually 'rounding out' to the nearest Euro. There may be a small baggage charge.
