GIRL POWER

The traveling trio continue their endless summer of perfect freestyle in paradise

The traveling trio of Arrianne Aukes (RRD / Simmer / Maui Ultra Fins), Maeli Cherel and Oda Johanne (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) are continuing their freestyle journey together. After a couple of months together in the freestyle Mecca of Jericoacoara, Brazil, the three girls are currently training on the beautiful island of Bonaire, which will host the first PWA Freestyle event of 2014 between the 20th to the 24th June.

Bonaire has built an incredible reputation for freestyle over the years thanks to local heroes such as the reigning PWA Freestyle World Champion Kiri Thode (Starboard / Gaastra) and the legendary figures of Tonky (Tabou / Gaastra) and Taty Frans (Starboard / MauiSails / Mystic / Maui Ultra Fins). Year upon year this pristine island attracts the best freestyle sailors in the world to come and train and that is one of the reasons that Bonaire is such an incredible place for freestylers - the level on the water is out of this world.

Aukes finished last season as the PWA Freestyle Vice-World Champion - her best ever result - whilst Johanne made an instant impact in her debut season as she finished in fifth place. Both of them look as though they have taken their sailing to the next level again with a stunning array of moves from, perfect funnels, double flakas and even culo attempts, whilst Johanne proves she means business with shakas, shuvit spocks and skopus.

The season ahead looks like it is shaping up to be one of the most exciting on record, but the real question is will any of the girls be able to put a dent in Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / Gaastra / Mystic / Chris Benz / Maui Ultra Fins) perfect record? Find out from the 20th June onwards right here on the PWA website.
