Albeau Smashes Speed Record

Albeau’s Winning Habits Gain Momentum…

2007 Slalom World Champion Antoine Albeau (Starboard / NeilPryde) has entered the record books after breaking the outright (500m) World Speed Record to become the fastest man on water powered by wind alone.

The barriers now been raised to 49.09 knots which eclipses Finian Maynard’s (F2 / NeilPryde) previous benchmark of 48.70 knots set back in 2004.

Top PWA Racer and F2 shaper Patrik Diethelm (F2 / North) also had a successful day setting a new production equipment record with an all-time best of 46.57 knots in the freezing cold 50-knot Mistral wind.

Our congratulations to Antoine who’s going from strength to strength after two back-to-back world titles in Slalom, and to Patrik for their achievements’.
