Guincho – The Wind Machine

Sea-it announce their documentary on world famous PWA venue Guincho and explain just how the Portuguese wind machine works...

French filmmaker Grégoire Schepre has just finished a fascinating new documentary about one of the world tour’s favorite stops on the Estoril coastline at Praia do Guincho.

Over the history of pro tour windsurfing, Guincho’s pretty much delivered every time, and Grégoire even makes a trip to the University of Lisbon to find out why from the expert meteorologists based there.

Right now the film’s mostly in French but it features short English interviews with Fanatic shaper and famous Guincho resident Sebastian Wenzel, PWA Tour manager Rich Page - who exlains how the tour and wavesailing competition works -  and of loads of the top names in wavesailing who make the pilgrimage to Guincho’s white sandy beach for the super-strength sea breeze and punchy Atlantic swell.

Oh, and of course you can expect a fair bit of action from one of the hottest competitions for both the men's and women's tour each June.

You can see a trailer at Sea-It.fr and a subtitled version to follow soon.
