Starboard And NeilPryde Take Top Honours

After another hugely successful PWA World Tour season, Starboard and NeilPryde earn their places at the top of the podium in the PWA Constructors Championship.

The PWA Constructors Championship is a fiercely fought contest that runs over the entire World Tour season. From the outset, both board and sail manufacturers are awarded points, calculated solely on current discipline rankings. The two highest scores for each discipline, whether they be for men or women, are added together to provide their ranking score.

This silent battle is fought behind the scenes of every single event, and is a hugely prestigious title to be awarded. To take top honours is a testament to both a manufacturer’s equipment, and the calibre of the team that sails it.

The 2008 season was a particularly close fought clash, with Starboard beating Fanatic to the overall number one position by a single point. In the sail manufacturers category, North and NeilPryde were actually tied on points, with NeilPryde ultimately winning through PWA tie break ruling.

Congratulations to both Starboard and NeilPryde on their victories, and we look forward to another awesome showdown in 2009.
