Loft Sails Exclusive

Innovative new mast designs look set to start a revolution for big slalom and formula sails.

Brand new for 2009, Loft Sails release their 520cm and 550cm reduced diameter masts for use on big slalom and formula sails.

This ground-breaking move comes after Loft pioneered the use of reduced diameter masts on slalom sails, believing that this was the future of slalom masts. After a vast amount of research and development, Loft Sails now proudly lay claim to being the world’s first, and only manufacturer of 520cm and 550cm RD masts.

Loft Sails’ Designer, Monty Spindler comments:

“We don’t like replacing broken masts. MDMs, with their thin walls and cam pressure, is a very bad mix. Everybody knows about mass failures in formula and under the sun, so the RDMs, they don’t react negatively to cam pressure. You can load up the cam all you want, and the wall supports it; no mast failures.”
