2009 PWA Provisional Calendar Released

Unveiled: The 2009 calendar boasts a provisional diary of 13 events, including two new additions.

The PWA proudly releases the 2009 provisional World Tour calendar. With thirteen events pencilled into the schedule, all three disciplines look to have a healthy year of competition in the season that lies ahead.

Kick starting the 2009 season will be the third successive Cabo Verde men’s wave world cup (Feb 14 - Feb 21). Needing no introduction, this event sets the bar high, and the ball rolling for the 12 subsequent events.

The 2009 calendar includes two new locations, Madrid, Spain, and Reggio Calabria, Italy. Madrid returns to the PWA calendar after a lengthy break, to once again play host to windsurfing’s spectacular Indoor discipline.

Bolstering the ’09 event count, the brand new venue of Reggio Calabria will provide an additional stop for the racers in the latter half of the season.

Also changing for the coming season, Podersdorf, Austria will be switching disciplines from freestyle to racing.

As mentioned previously, the calendar is provisional and may be subject to change throughout the season. Stay tuned to pwaworldtour.com for more official announcements regarding the 2009 season in the coming weeks.
