North SHOX

The new mast base system, dubbed as windsurfing’s equivalent to full suspension on mountain bikes!

The new SHOX.XTR from North combines the ratchet system found on the POWER.XT with the all-new high-end integrated shock absorber. This new component absorbs even the toughest bits of chop to leave a faster, steady, calm and controlled rig in your hands.

Advantages of the SHOX.XTR can be found across all windsurfing disciplines. In freestyle, the rider gains more pop from the rebound, and the damping effect improves the reception on landings. In waves, it has a similar effect of dampening the landings, but also introduces a new level of board control when going down the line. In the disciplines of slalom, speed, or freeride, the rider can point further downwind, increasing their speed with less fear of losing control.

The POWER.XTR ratchet system has been integrated on both standard diameter and reduced diameter masts, and all of this with only an added 150g of weight compared with the standard Power.XT extension.

It’ll be interesting to see how many of the North International team, including freestyle supremo Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic, North), wave allrounder Nik Baker (Fanatic, North), and slalom racer Cyril Moussilmani (Starboard, North) will be using the SHOX.XTR at the upcoming Colgate World Cup Sylt.
