On Tour With Mystic

The technical apparel brand has just joined the Professional Windsurfers Association.

With two of their top riders currently leading the way in the world rankings, it was only a matter of time before Mystic signed up to the most successful, and highly respected, windsurfing tour on the planet. We welcome the brand with open arms, and look forward to seeing more action from their team throughout the season.

The Mystic riders currently competing on the world tour include all time windsurfing legend, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (Starboard, Severne, Mystic) who is ranked first in slalom. Bonairian freestyle maestro, Taty Frans (Starboard, MauiSails, Mystic) who is ranked first in freestyle. High jump hero and wave innovator, Boujmaa Guillol (Starboard, Severne, Mystic). 2009 women's slalom world champion, Valerie Arrighetti (Tabou, Loft, Mystic). And, top slalom sailors, Ben van deer Steen (JP, Mystic), Cedric Bordes (Tabou, Gaastra, Mystic), and Lena Erdil (Mistral, Loft, Mystic).

We caught up with Mystic to find out what they're about, where they're heading, and what they think of the tour.

PWA: What does Mystic represent?

Mystic: "We are an active technical and apparel brand that is immersed in the extreme side of the watersports world, which includes the windsurfing scene.

We produce technical accessories such as wetsuits, harnesses, board bags, boots, neoprene jackets, booms, impact vests etc. And, apparel items like boardshorts, shirts, hoodies, and soft shells.

Innovation, support, quality, and style is what we want to add and contribute to the world of windsurfing. Any riders that want to push themselves to the limit need comfort and quality, and that's exactly what Mystic represents.

At Mystic, we are only developing technical and apparel products for the riders, so no sails or boards, we want to stick with our specialty and make the best out of it!"

PWA: What makes Mystic stand out from the crowd design wise?

Mystic: "Different styling with are own identity. If you speak about Mystic products, or team riders, everything in the family is remarkable."

PWA: Why have you decided to join the PWA?

Mystic: "At Mystic we feel very strongly that our riders are the most important assets in the world of windsurfing. A group of people who together push the sport beyond its boundaries and show the crowd what it's all about. Whether that be racing, wave, or freestyle, it's all there! Couple this with the professionalism within the organisation, and it makes the PWA tour a family that you need to be part of."

PWA: In your eyes what does the PWA represent?

Mystic: "Passion, entertainment, innovation, and of course competition at the highest possible level."

PWA: Who do you think will bring you a PWA world title?

Mystic: "Bjorn and Taty are the first names that spring to mind. They're both leading their fleets at this moment in time, and have the skill, drive, and determination to bring those titles home."

So there you have it, an apparel brand with more names than you can shake a stick at. They're hungry for titles, and seem to have the right men, and gear, for the job.
