Hookipa Hoedown

We check in with the centre stage of Maui’s windsurfing scene to see what’s been going down in April...

It comes around quickly, but believe it or not, it’s photo shoot season on Maui again. In short that means that almost without exception, the industry's biggest players descend on Hookipa beach park to ride their respective brands shiny new 2012 equipment, and put it through its paces in front of a sea of telephoto lenses, helicopters, jetskis and water cameramen.

Apparently there’s been days with well over 50 sails out at Hookipa; for a break that isn’t exactly huge in terms of sailing area, that smacks of carnage to us. Anyway, enjoy a little sample of what’s been going down HERE.
