Interview with Björn Dunkerbeck

Q: Congratulations on being a father...How has life changed since the new arrival to the family?

BD: Obviously I have been spending a lot more time with the family around the house. I have not been partying as much as I used to but the amount of windsurfing & surfing I do has not changed.

Q: You have been to a lot of cool places over the last few years what exotic trips have you got planned for next year?

BD: We have some trips planned but at the moment they are all secret. You can check out the last ones on our DVD and video, which is for sale on our web site www.the-search.net"

Q: What happened in Australia when you shot yourself in the leg with the fishing spear?

BD: While hunting fish with a spear gun, my spear went off by accident and entered my foot under the left inner ankle and came out at the small toe. I was hundreds of miles away from the nearest hospital and had to be rushed back down to Perth. I had to miss the next event in Sylt but I am 99% recovered now.

Q: Who drove you to the hospital?

BD: Gerald Leikermoser, my partner from Proof drove the dirt road from our camp full speed to Canavon in 2 hours.

Q: How long did you stay in hospital in Perth after the accident?

BD: I was in hospital in Perth for about ten days, which wasn’t a lot of fun. It was very painful when it happened and I guess the injury could have been a lot worse so I was kind of lucky.
