Angulo Time

The ground-breaking filmmakers from UMI pictures present their latest portrait movie, this time catching up with windsurfing legend Mark Angulo.

UMI pictures are famous for their innovative movies, capturing amazing action shots and really bringing they’re subject to life. This winter the guys made their way out to the wave blessed shores of Maui for two months to film one of the godfathers of windsurfing, Mark Angulo.

Angulo has driven windsurfing from the very beginning, and has constantly broken down boundaries on the waves and pushed himself to the limit to learn the impossible. One of his latest creations the ‘Mutant’ is still challenging even the best on the world tour including, Ricardo Campello (JP / NeilPryde / MFC) and Kauli Seadi (JP / NeilPryde).

The Angulo family has been a huge part of the windsurfing culture, with his father Ed Angulo designing some of the finest boards to come out of Maui and his brother, Josh Angulo (Gun / Angulo / Dakine) winning two wave titles and still speeding his way around the racecourse.

UMI have captured Angulo’s super-stylish moves and radical action in this movie on the hefty waves and uncovered what drives Angulo on and off the water.
