A demon on the racecourse and in the waves, this week we catch up with Cyril Moussilmani.

Cyril Moussilmani (Starboard / North) has a wealth of experience on the racecourse, enabling him to be one of the fastest and most consistent riders on tour. He has an incredible track record having finished within the top ten for the past six years. He is the eldest in an extremely active and talented family and he regularly has to battle against his brothers on the racecourse. We caught up with Cyril to find out a little bit more.

PWA: Fourth place is a great position to finish the year in, what are your thoughts on the 2011 season?

Moussilmani: “Fourth is better than fifth for sure and looking back on the season I could have finished in seventh place or further down the field so I am happy.”

PWA: We understand you are heavily involved in the testing for Starboard and North could you talk us through a days testing and how you know what needs to change?

Moussilmani: “I really enjoy testing, it is a lot of fun and really interests me. I have a lot of experience so I can feel what is wrong straight away and I know what needs to be changed.”

PWA: What is your main focus for the winter season?

Moussilmani: “Get some better gear for 2012 so I can go faster and make the podium.”

PWA: When did you first step onto a board?

Moussilmani: “I first learnt how to windsurf when I was nine years old, and from then on I have taught myself everything.”

PWA: Not only to do excel on the racecourse your great in the waves, what is your favorite move?

Moussilmani: “I love the feeling of the backloop and the goiter.”

PWA: What move did you find the hardest to learn?

Moussilmani: “Push loop.”

PWA: Where is your favorite place to windsurf?

Moussilmani: “It has to be my home spot in Marseille and Carro.”

PWA: What do you do when you’re not windsurfing?

Moussilmani: “ I like to keep fit, go biking, SUPing and Skiing in the winter.”

PWA: Any top tips for going faster?

Moussilmani: “That’s top secret”

PWA: What are your goals for 2012?

Moussilmani: “I would like to make the podium and I will see during the season if I can make the top spots.”
