Young Ripper

Thirteen year old Mattijs Lasore ripping at Brouwersdam

At just thirteen years old Mattijs Lasore (Maui Ultra Fins) is already ripping it up on the water. Mattijs was born in South Africa but moved to Belgium at the age of four and he now gets to call his home spot the freestyle paradise of Brouwersdam, Holland.

Surrounded by some of the best sailors in the world and a real motivation to succeed in the freestyle discipline, Mattijs’ level is progressing at an astonishing rate. The thirteen year old is already landing spock 540s, flakas, one handed flakas, punetas and e-sliders with supreme style. Whilst also being extremely close to switch chachoos.

Mattijs’ latest video was filmed before he left for the JP Young Guns Camp held in Prasonisi, Rhodes, and he is rumoured to have improved his level once again after the completion of the camp.

With ambitions of finishing in the top ten of the PWA World Tour, it won’t be too long before we see him competing at the PWA Freestyle events if he continues his current rate of progression.
