PWA ISLAS CANARIAS AWARDS

Watch Alex Mussolini’s monumental frontside wave 360 and sick action from the new generation crew at Pozo

The latest entries for the Islas Canarias PWA Windsurfing Excellence Awards consist of more amazing action. First up today is Alex Mussolini’s (Tabou / Gaastra) monumental frontside wave 360, which achieved perfect tens from the judges during the men’s single elimination at the PWA Sylt World Cup, and it was without doubt one of the moves, if not the, best move of the entire event. Mussolini went onto to finish second in the double elimination as he claimed his place on the overall podium for the first time in his life.

Secondly today we have a sick entry for the “Short Film of the Year”, which features incredible sailing from the three young guns; Moritz Mauch, 16, (Fanatic / North), Pablo Ramirez, 17, (Goya Windsurfing / MFC) and Alessio Stillrich, 17, (Fanatic / North / AL360). The film is shot at the windsurfing Mecca of Pozo Izquierdo and the action is off the scale as all three sailors land monster backloops, slick takas and shakas, as well as pushing each other to the limit as they go for air reverses and air takas too. They are certainly three names to keep an eye out for in the future and it won’t be long before you see them rising through the ranks.

Remember that the 2012 Islas Canarias PWA Windsurfing Excellence Awards are still open, so if there’s a key moment that you feel hasn’t been nominated yet, then make sure you head over to the awards page here to enter your nomination(s). You can enter as many times as you want, so keep those entries rolling in...
