OPPOSITES ATTRACT

The opposite side of Medano Bay, Tenerife

Occasionally the Northeasterly trade winds of Tenerife are replaced with winds from the Southwest, which transform the normally port tack bay into a starboard tack down the line wave sailing heaven. Yesterday, 4th of March, this is exactly what happened and Dany Bruch (Starboard / Severne / AL360), Adam Lewis (Patrik / Point-7), PWA judge Mark ‘Sparky’ Hosegood, Mark Shinn and Bart David were all on hand, amongst others, to take advantage of the rare conditions on offer.

With offshore winds and perfect peeling waves the bay of Medano offered exceptional conditions, allowing the sailors to link perfect fluid turns as well as throwing one handed and regular aerials at will. Not everything went to plan 100% of the time though and the last minute of the video highlights this perfectly with a selection of comical crashes, proving that not even the pros can execute their moves perfectly everytime.

Bartek Jankowski is the man behind both the camera and the edit itself as part of another fantastic BJ Productions movie.
