MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Fundacion Niños a toda Vela - A charity making a difference to windsurfing

Fundacion Niños a toda Vela is a non-profit organisation which was founded on the 18th December 2012. Their main goal is to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children living along the Venezuelan coast through a range of activities such as, windsurfing, kitesurfing and paddle boarding. Their main aim and hope is that such activities and opportunities will provide the necessary training for their intellectual, cultural and spiritual development, as well as human development as integral beings, rather than being led astray into a life of crime with no aspirations.

What activities are performed by the foundation?

Sports clinics aimed towards giving children the chance of knowing the aforementioned sports.

Special cleaning days at beaches where these sports are practiced in order to teach the children about the importance of preserving the environment.

Special health days in which doctors and dentists will be invited to give the health care to the children, allowing them to have a better quality of life.

Training that will allow the children to develop technical and competitive skills in order to progress in the sports.

Clinics in schools with guest athletes who will motivate children to practice these sports as well as to give a message filled with values to the men and women of tomorrow.

In the few months that the foundation has been running the results already look fantastic with thirty children already slalom windsurfing and already showing an interest in freestyle. Furthermore there is now a group of fifteen children in El Yaque who are also windsurfing and as a result enjoying a better quality of life both in the present and hopefully in the future too.

The Foundation started last year and they work with children with few or non resources to give them the opportunity to practice sports and have a better live. In windsurfing they already have 30 kids ailing in slalom and some already wanting to start with the freestyle. They have also now a group of 15 kids in el Yaque.
