BONAIRE BLISS

Hitting Freek-y heights with Dieter van der Eyken in Bonaire

Dieter van der Eyken (Starboard / Severne) unveils his winter training movie from Bonaire, and judging by his opening two results of the season his training is clearly paying dividends.

The Belgian maestro backed up his fifth place finish in the opening event of the season, with a fantastic performance in Fuerteventura, which saw him claim fifth again. Not only is van der Eyken showing explosive moves in his heats, but he is also showing the sort of consistency that is needed to compete at the very top of the sport. After such a strong start to the season the twenty-one year old currently sits in fourth place overall, and he’ll now be looking to at least maintain that position over the next two events in Brouwersdam, Holland and Sylt, Germany later this year.

On the beautiful turquoise waters of Bonaire van der Eyken lands anything from huge konos and air bobs to brilliant combinations such as flaka-shaka-flakas and spock culos.
