A fond farewell for Ricardo Campello and Leon Jamaer

Recently there has been rumours and speculation galore as an exciting transfer season continues during then PWA off season. Today's news features Ricardo Campello (MFC) and Leon Jamaer (JP / NeilPryde) both of whom have been involved in the speculation.

A few days ago it was revealed that Campello, who has three PWA Freestyle World crowns to his name, would be leaving JP and NeilPryde, bringing an end to and era which spanned twelve or thirteen years together. It is still unclear who Campello will be sailing for next year, but we'll bring you more details as soon as we know more.

Leon Jamaer will also be embarking on a new challenge, having left Fanatic and Hot Sails Maui to join the JP and NeilPryde team. Jamaer enjoyed a fantastic season in 2013 as he continued to go from strength to strength, ultimately breaking into the overall top ten for the first time his career. The German will be hoping to continue his climb up the rankings when the PWA World Tour resumes next year.

With both sailors in question moving onto new challenges, the duo bid a fond farewell to their previous sponsors with respective videos of their own. Campello demonstrates his wave riding prowess, reiterating exactly why he has been irreplaceable in the world's top five or better for the passed four years, connecting vertical, fluid turns, whilst also living up to his radical nature with extreme air takas at Ho'okipa Beach Park, during the recent JP Aloha Classic. Meanwhile Jamaer's final movie on Fanatic and Hot Sails Maui sees him sailing in Chile. Here the German performs his trademark super tweaked pushloops, whilst also showing that he's continuing to push his level with pushloop forward attempts.
