ONE YEAR ON

Remembering a fallen comrade - The inspirational Mikey Clancy

A year a go today the windsurfing world was rocked by the tragic death of a supremely talented and inspirational young man. Mikey Clancy was the brightest and most naturally gifted sailor to come out of Ireland in recent years, before he was taken from us far too young.

Clancy had already showed he had the appetite and prowess to compete with the best in the world when he claimed his best ever finish on the PWA World Tour during the PWA KIA Cold Hawaii World Cup, where he finished 13th overall. However, it wasn’t just Clancy’s unquestionable talent on the water that made him such a big hit on the PWA World Tour, and the windsurfing scene in general, as Mikey was one of the friendliest and down to earth people you could ever wish to meet.

One year on from Clancy’s tragic passing, we feel it only right to take a moment to remember our fallen comrade. Below you will find a two tribute videos in memory of Mikey from aeproduction and Continentseven respectively.

Our thoughts today are firmly with Mikey’s friends and family. RIP Mikey. Gone but never forgotten.
