SETTING THE WORLD ALIGHT

One wave, over seven minutes of riding and a new world record

You may remember that in December of last year Camille Juban (Quatro / MauiSails / MFC) officially set a new Guinness World Record for the longest wave ever ridden on a windsurfer in Chicama, Peru. Now the video of Juban’s record breaking attempt has been released!

Chicama is located halfway between the Peruvian capital - Lima - and the border of Ecuador and has held the reputation for having the longest wave in the world for many years. On the perfect forecast, offering a big swell and wind Camille and his brother Tom Juban headed for the famed wave with one goal in their mind…to smash the world record for the longest wave ever ridden.

In the end Camille was able to shatter the world record and write his name in history as he sailed for an incredible seven minutes and three-seconds on one wave. A quite incredible feat!
