RISING STAR

The new flying Dutchman on the block

Jordy Vonk (F2 / Point-7) may only be twenty years old, but he’s already showing that he has the skills and mindset to challenge the elite of the slalom world. Vonk qualified for one winners’ final, placing seventh, in the opening PWA Slalom event of the year in Costa Brava at the end of May, before finishing eighteenth overall - in what is sure to be his first of many finishes inside the top twenty and beyond.

Like the majority of the Black Team, Vonk spent a large portion of his winter training in El Medano, Tenerife, and he is already reaping the rewards from his hard work in the off season. Now the new flying Dutchman has released his latest video, featuring warp speed slalom and cranking fully planing gybes.

Vonk is definitely one to watch for the future and if he carries on as he is then there’s no doubt that he has a great career ahead of him. To see the young Dutchman in action click here.
