Throwback Thursday

Throwing it back to 2007 for one of the all time great events in Sal, Cabo Verde

With it being Thursday we thought we’d throw you back to 2007 and remind you of one of the all time great events in Sal, Cabo Verde. This was the first event of the year and the conditions couldn’t have been any better as Cabo Verde’s famous point break - Ponta Preta - broke into life with a monster swell hitting just in time for the event.

Glassy, fast, peeling waves of perfection combined with cross off winds and the world’s best sailors made for the perfect recipe for a windsurfing feast and the cream of the crop didn’t disappoint as they took windsurfing to a whole ‘nother level. Alex Mussolini (Tabou / GA Sails) even went as far as saying that he had one of the best days of his life during the event - that’s just how GOOD conditions were!

Kauli Seadi (JP / Hot Sails Maui / MFC) took down local guru Josh Angulo (Angulo / Gun Sails) in the single elimination, but the Brazilian couldn’t hold onto his lead in the double as Angulo came storming back to be crowned the King of Cabo Verde, much to the delight of the locals!

All that’s left for you to do is sit back, relax and relive the truly epic conditions with the following three videos:
