Reaching Goals

Sebastian Kornum and Danni Jakobsen striving to break the mould

Sebastian Kornum (JP / NeilPryde) and Danni Jakobsen (Starboard / Loft Sails) may not be your typical slalom sailor in terms of stature, but that doesn’t stop them from pitting themselves against the best in the business. The two Danes have just released a new video explaining how they have to approach things different in order to break the mould.

Danni and Sebastian’s outlook on approaching the world of racing:

“Usually slalom and formula racers are tall and heavy. This is key to be fast on the water. 2 Danish riders, Danni Jakobsen and Sebastian Kornum, are neither tall or heavy. They are both former motocross champions who decided to start windsurfing on high level. Life quickly took a change and they became training partners since the very beginning of their windsurfing careers. Luckily they shared the same big issue; lack of weight and size. That’s why you will see their training methods and focus might be very different from other top formula or slalom riders. They spend the same amount of time on physical training as they do on the water. Despite tough continuously training, injuries, surgeries and other frustrating situations, Danni and Sebastian still enjoy their sport and competition to the fullest.”

Best regards,

Danni and Sebastian
