Mauritius 2015

In the short space of time between Sylt and Crozon, Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / North) and Klaas Voget (Fanatic / Simmer / MFC), headed to Mauritius for the Fanatic dealership meeting ready to take on the ferocious One Eye. Now they have just released the video from their short trip.

Fanatic on Mauritius:

Fanatic would like to delight you with another great wave clip right before Christmas. Their wave team riders Klaas Voget and Victor Fernandez are riding the legendary One Eye break on Mauritius. It was a day to remember during September 2015! A big swell hit the island. Klaas and Victor made it out in the afternoon and ripped waves till the daylight was almost gone. The waves had a lot of energy on that day and big barrels were breaking over the sharp reef.

Klaas Voget: “The main channel was closing out and we were not sure if a boat could even make it to the outside to shoot from. This session in One Eye will stick with me forever. Being so close to the huge barrels and coming in on one of these massive and fast moving lines is such an intense rush!”

John Carter (photographer): “At 2.30pm myself and Manu Grafenauer (movie producer) were in the boat both feeling kind of anxious at what we are about to let ourselves in for. Manu had even brought fins with him in case the boat would flip which was not exactly reassuring! The thrill of being out in those waves and watching those huge barrels charge down the reef was awesome.”
