The Art of Slalom Starting

What a difference a second makes...

The start in slalom is one of the most critical aspects -- a poor start can see you immediately out of contention for the top 4, while a perfectly timed start can gain you a clear advantage - with the added benefit of clean wind the remainder of the heat can be relatively plain sailing from here on. Lena Erdil (Starboard / Point-7 / Mystic / AL360) has just released a new video clip, analysing her starts and showing how much difference a second can really make in the world of starts.

Lena Erdil: "Here is a video with some slalom starts from my winter training in Tenerife most of them crossing the line at 0 but also a few overearlies some i find actually debatable, but its all just training anyway and I thought it would be cool for you guys out there to have a look and also be the judge!! I find it super interesting to see just how much is going on in the last few seconds before a start and just how long 1 Second can actually be in a moment like this!! Enjoy and let me know what you thinkl! Thanks a lot for the great footage and general work @Gille and the TWS team in Tenerife!"
