Good Morning from Costa Teguise. Guess what, it’s windy! The competition continues into its third day. The format now returns back to single elimination with all sailors starting in the first round and working towards a final. This gives everybody a chance to do well and make up for any failings in the first 2 rounds. The overall champion will be the person that can be consistent through all the rounds so being a champion in one round doesn’t always guarantee you the 1st price at the end of the event. You can be sure though that yesterday’s champion Ricardo Campello (JP/Neil Pryde) along with Kauli Seadi (AHD/Naish) and Dionico Guadagnino (Neil Pryde) will be sailing hard to make it through to the final stages of this the second single elimination and consolidate their podium positions.<bk><bk>

 

Keep your eyes on the outsiders who have shown flashes of brilliance so far. This could be their chance to make an impact on the PWA World Tour. Anthony Ruenes (Naish), John Skye (F2/Arrows), Kevin Mevissen (JP/Neil Pryde) and Nick Warmuth (Starboard/Gaastra) are just a few who could do some damage to the established order. Look out also for those sailors in the top 10 who are well positioned in the rankings to cause a few upsets Colin Sifferlin (Starboard), Konan Lang (Naish), Remko De Weerd (Fanatic/Gaastra), Douglas Diaz (Fanatic/North) and Tonki Frans (F2/Gasstra) are all right there ready to pounce on the leaders. Let us not forget the local hotshots who could well turn on the style here today as the conditions return back to normal – smaller waves and force 6 winds as opposed to the force 8 winds and over mast high swell we have been experiencing so far.<bk><bk>
