Day 12: The waiting game set to go down to the wire with another lay day tomorrow

With another long period swell arriving and the trade winds not yet returning the decision was made to call another lay day — meaning the wait goes on for those left in the double eliminations to try and fight their way back through the double, while the agonising wait for event leaders Sarah Hauser (Tabou / Simmer / MFC) and Kevin Pritchard (Starboard / Ezzy / MFC) continues.

And with the forecast looking light again for tomorrow the wait will go on with another lay day being called, which means that the hope of completing the double eliminations will now go down to the final day on Sunday. The current forecast predicts a 1.4m swell at 14s and also crucially shows the trade winds returning, which could yet provide a grandstand finale if everything falls into place.
