Could Jordy Vonk be a dark horse for a shot at the 2017 world title?

Jordy Vonk (Fanatic / NorthSails) made his debut on the PWA Slalom World Tour in 2012 and the following season he already showed he has the potential to be a future major force on the racing circuit in years to come after finishing one elimination in fourth place during the 2013 Sylt PWA World Cup.

Over the last few years the young Dutchman has been juggling studying, training and competing and has continued to make progress through the ranks and at the end of 2016 he had already broken into the overall top 16 - finishing 13th overall - with the highlight being a 4th place finish in Costa Brava, Spain, where he narrowly missed out on his first podium.

Vonk has now finished his studies meaning his sole focus can be on windsurfing and he clearly has the potential to be a serious force - could the 23-year-old be a dark horse as a title contender for the coming season? By the sounds of his latest video Vonk is focused on the task at hand and makes no secret that being at the top of the PWA rankings is his priority.

Jordy Vonk on his latest video: “After spending three and half months on Tenerife I feel ready for the upcoming PWA season! It's been a great variation of several different training regimes which will all be covered in the video. I hope you get a nice impression of what it takes to get fit for the season!”
