Eco Board Project

Florian Jung shares his first impressions on the Eco Board Project Prototype

Companies all over the world are striving to reduce their carbon footprint on the earth as the affect of global warming becomes more apparent each year. As we speak, Starboard are currently developing the first eco-friendly board with Eco Board Project ambassador Florian Jung (Starboard / Gun Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) heading up the team.

The German has been testing out the first prototypes in South Africa this winter and you can watch his latest video to see the results, while hearing the first impressions from the man himself by visiting @ vimeo.com/213524032.

Starboard: “The Ecoboard Project was started with one objective in mind: to be as energy efficient as possible. This starts by using raw materials that have a lower carbon footprint than those used today but with equal or improved mechanical properties. By being one of the fastest growing trees, Balsa wood could be one of the solutions to reach this objective. Ecoboard Project ambassador Florian Jung has been testing these materials for the last few weeks in South Africa.”
