Nico Prien ruled out for the rest of the season

Germany’s Nico Prien (JP / NeilPryde / Shamal Sunglasses) has become the latest sailor to join the injury hit list after the 21-year-old injured his hand while foiling last week and the outcome was worse than he had originally feared. More from Nico below:

Nico Prien: “Time to put my toys back into the storage for a while. My MRI results came back a little bit worse than I expected: Torn collateral ligament of my index finger. That means a few facts that are hard to take in for me:

- No PWA Hvide Sande
- No PWA Sylt
- And a hand in cast for about 6 more weeks plus another 3 weeks without windsurfing on top of that. I guess I just gotta focus already on the winter training and the next season.

Not being able to compete at the PWA events makes me really sad since I couldn't really show my full potential in the German Windsurfcup this year and found the PWA in Japan the only event that I was able to show my full performance.

Can't wait to be back on the water.

Thanks to Nordmann Racing, NeilPryde, JP Australia, and Shamal Sunglasses for your support.”
