<PHOTO1>The future of professional windsurfing has been substantially reinforced today with the signing of a new five year deal that guarantees PWA Grand Slam events in Gran Canaria, now, and until the end of the decade.

The new agreement between the PWA and Pozo Compass, the Gran Canaria based company responsible for the successful creation and operation of the event at Pozo Izquierdo during the last fifteen years, will safeguard what has become one of the most reliable and consistently windy events in history.

The Pozo event, which has boosted the careers of such names as Bjorn Dunkerbeck, Vidar Jensen and, of course, the Moreno Twins, will take place in 2005 as a Wave and Freestyle Grand Slam marking it the biggest contest of the windsurfing season as part of the only Professional Windsurfing World Tour.

The Gran Canaria PWA Grand Slam 2005 takes place from the 28th June to the 6th July. For further information, please contact info@pwaworldtour.com.
