Mercedes-Benz Sylt PWA Super Grand Slam

Day 7: Lay Day After 3 Days of Brilliant Windsurfing

During the first half of the morning it looked as though the action was set to continue on Day 7 of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sylt Super Grand Slam, but shortly before the skippers’ meeting at 10am the wind dropped and it never really threatened to return after that meaning the Slalom and Foil fleets remained on hold until 4pm - at which point they were released.

Friday Outlook

The forecast for tomorrow currently predicts southwesterly winds of 16-25 knots and 3-4ft waves, so with this in mind, an early skippers’ meeting has been called for the Women’s Wave fleet - 8am - with the hope that we will be able to complete the Double Elimination with only a maximum of 5 heats to run.

The forecast then suggests that is could be windy for the rest of the day, which would provide the opportunity to switch back to Slalom or Foiling - and with the waves not guaranteed to be suitable - the racing fleets will meet at 9am for their skippers’ meeting with a first possible start at 10am (GMT+2).

Skippers’ Meeting Times Day 8 (All Times GMT+2)

- Wave Skippers' Meeting - 8am - first possible start 8:30am
- Slalom Skippers' Meeting - 9am - first possible start 10am

Project Blue Life - Dedicated to Effective Climate Protection

Actually it is no news anymore that the time has come: CO2 reduction and compensation is the most important subject for everyone.

A very interesting fact is that Mangroves are the most valuable plants on earth.

Mangroves are the most sustainable, simple and efficient tool for CO2 compensation for every private person and for businesses of all kinds.

We are the ones together, honoured to spread this information to the world, inviting thousands and millions of people to participate and share.

Thanks to Svein Rasmussen and Dr. Arne Fjortoft as our foundation partners of Blue Life, we have developed a system that turns events of all kind into tools for climate protection. This actively involves the competitors as well as spectators and digital users and viewers.
