PWA World Cup Guincho Wave Contest 2006 Day Three

Its a relaxed lunchtime here in Guincho. But the pro’s all watch from the corner of their eyes for signs on the hills above historic Sintra in case there should be a call to action.

The forecast for tomorrow and the weekend provide slim hope, and don’t take local effect into account. A building swell looks likely for the weekend, and any wind that does show up here will see that swell punished. Gathered here to do battle, the worlds elite waveriders are likely to destroy anything rideable since waiting patiently this so far this week.

Day Three 11.30

Its another day of incredible weather and small clean surf here at the Priaia do Guincho on the Estoril coast, Portugal.

Head Judge Duncan Coombs is holding skippers meeting now and is likely to put riders on hourly standby as we wait for wind. With the forecasts not ideal for typical Nortada winds, the contestants hope for the unexpected as Guincho so often provides.

In the meantime you can see who the top seeds are and who’s drawn who in the MENS SINGLE ELIMINATION LADDER and LADIES SINGLE ELIMINATION LADDER.
