The 2007 Costa Teguise Grand Slam - Registration Day

Lanzarote’s blue waters and balmy trade winds have tempted 3 full-strength fleets to Costa Teguise for a Grand Slam Racing and Freestyle frenzy.

Costa Teguise has witnessed Freestyle and Super-X showdowns in the past, but this season the opening event of the Canary Islands leg greets the finest Men’s Slalom Racers and the elite Men’s and Women’s Freestyle competitors.

All booked in are the giants of Slalom, Antoine Albeau (Starboard / NeilPryde), Micah Buzianis (JP / NeilPryde), Bjorn Dunkerbeck (T1 / North) and Kevin Pritchard.

And, opening the Freestyle tour are all the great names of the modern game. Primed and ready are 2006 World Champ Jose Estredo (Fanatic / North), Taty Frans (Starboard / MauiSails) and Lanzarote local-boy Antxon Otaegui (JP / NeilPryde).

Similarly all the hot favorites are signed-up in the women’s freestyle event. Last seasons champ Daida Moreno (North), and fresh new talents Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde) and Laure Treboux (Naish / Naish) are all signed-up and rearing top go.

The forecast is positive and after the 10.00 Skipper’s meeting it’s likely that Freestyle will be first on the agenda.
