PWA returns to Podersdorf, Austria for the kickoff of the 2006 freestyle tour.

The comeback of one of the first freestyle events on the PWA calendar is official; from the 29th of April until the 7th of May, the PWA sets up camp at Podersdorf, Austria at the famous Neusiedler See Lake for the start of the battle for the 2006 PWA Freestyle world title. Not only is the PWA proud to have Austria back on its calendar since its last edition in 2001, the 2006 PWA Podersdorf event also marks a historic collaboration with the EFPT, as the event counts towards the European ranking as well.

For a full week the who’s who in freestyle will take over this scenic lake outside Vienna to dazzle the crowds with the newest tricks they have been cooking up during winter training. The shallow waters of Neusiedler See Lake allow the sailors to strut their stuff close to shore, right in front of the crowds.

With a € 30,000 prize purse the competitive stakes are obviously high, but Podersdorf’s party status in its turn is drawing loads of sailors and spectators to the event as well, setting the stage for an action packed week, on and off the water.

Podersdorf goes ballistic on the 29th of April, kicking off the 2006 PWA freestyle tour Austrian style, where world cup freestyle all began back in 1998. Full entry lists are due in the weeks to come and an impressive line up of key players is expected.
