2008 Guincho, Portugal

Guincho beach is just north of Cascais and near Sintra. Praia do Guincho is the best of all Portugal's surfing beaches within easy striking distance of Lisbon. A bus or train from Lisbon [or Sintra] to Cascais will take not more than 45 minutes, then Guincho is 9km [5miles] further north. Waves are often outsize and can be tricky for novices, as can the rip.
