2008 Sotavento, Fuerteventura

Sotavento is a stunning spot, with huge sandy beaches, located at one of the windiest spots in the Canary Islands. The fantastic wind stats here are the result of the trade winds (from March to October) being funneled between two mountain ranges, accelerating the wind and forcing it directly out over Sotavento. This means offshore wind so beginners are advised to use the large lagoon whilst the more advanced can enjoy the open Atlantic.
