18:34 At the halfway stage Browne leads this one, but it's by no means over yet as Köster lands a stalled doble of his own - not as high or clean as Browne's though. Gil still in and and Paré still has time to get himself back in contention, but so far the final hasn't gone his way.
18:30 Paré also pings a nice frontside 3, but cna't back it up with anything.

14:24 Köster rotates through a perfect double, which will see him move into the qualifying places.
14:23 You'd have expected Köster and Campello to be dominating this heat, but as it stands Sugi leads, while Thule is narrowly in second place with half the heat to go... could there be a major upset on the cards?
14:19 Campello finds a little ramp on the inside and spins through a double forward, while Köster attempts a pushloop forward bascially off a bit of chop.

Morgan Noireaux currenly leads the heat ahead of Alessio Stillrich, who has just landed a clean one-foot backloop, which sends him into the lead.
13:33 Josep Pons is currently on the way to the hospital after sustaining what sounds like a nasty cut. Sounds as though he must've landed on his fin and will need stitches at a minimum. We'll try and keep you updated as we hear more.

12:30 End of Heat
12:25 Stathopoulos in a solid second place and unless van dam Sanchidrian or Alonso can find something a bit special then it looks like it'll be the Greek and Campello progressing.
12:24 At about the halfway stage Campello holds a commanding lead after landing the first pushloop forward of the contest... how many of those do you think we'll see today?
12:20 Stathopoulos sticks a nice backloop as well.

11:06 Flechet has landed the best two jumps so far with a backloop and a stalled forward, while local boy Romero is currently in second place. Wave riding looks particularly difficult with the strength of the wind.

Good morning and welcome to the opening day of the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup, which looks as though we'll see a flying start to proceedings after registration was completed yesterday afternoon due to the forecast for the next two days. Sometimes mega forecasts can disappoint, but I'm glad to say that it doesn't look like that's going to happen today as it's already nuking with some waves on the menu too. Skippers' meeting coming up at 9:30am with a first possible start at 10:15am.
