18:18 That's it for the day here in Gran Canaria - congratulations to Alexia Kiefer Quintana for earlier claiming victory in the Girl's U21s and to Gregory Stathopoulos, who currently leads the Boy's U21 fleet after claiming a brilliant victory in the Single Elimination earlier today. The young Greek will now look to defend that place in the Double Elimination over the last couple of days. We'll be back tomorrow from 9:30am with the skippers' meeting - first possible start 10am. Thanks for tuning in and see you again tomorrow.

18:16 Result Boy's U18 Heat 13 - Samuele Ferraro advances

18:15 End of Heat

18:12 Nice shifty from Moriya, which closes the gap, but it isn't enough...

18:12 With just a few minutes to go Ferraro has opened up just over a three point lead. Moriya goes down on a backloop.

18:09 Moriya attempts a goiter, but can't quite pull it off.

18:09 At the halfway stage there's less than a point between them... the winner of this progresses into the fop four, for the loser it's the end of the road for this year.

18:03 Boy's U21 Heat 13 now sailing - Ferraro vs Moriya

18:01 Result Boy's U18 Heat 13 - Fernando Sottile advances

18:00 End of Heat

17:55 Only a couple of points in it after the opening exchanges, but that's without Silvestri landing a second jump.

17:48 Boy's U18 Heat 13 now sailing - Silvestri vs Sottile

17:45 Back in sequence 3 minutes until Boy's U18 Heat 13 - SIlvestri vs Sottile

17:33 There will now be a heat break before we progress into the man-on-man heats.

17:30 End of Heat

17:29 Laurent attempts a double forward again, but doesn't quite sail away from it... Laurent finds a ramp just before the end of the heat to land a backloop.

17:27 Into the last three minutes on this one and it's Moriya with a bit of breathing room in first place. Remember only the top sailor progresses from this heat.

17:25 Moriya moves into the lead after pulling off another shifty just as he did in the previous heat.

17:22 Alonso leading this one early on having landed a pushloop and a backloop.

17:18 Boy's U21 Heat 12 now sailing - Laurent vs Moriya vs Filippi vs Alonso

17:15 End of Heat

17:09 Halfway through this one it's Sottile leading ahead of Barutell, but there's not much separating 1st-4th, so that could still all change.

17:02 Result U21 Boy's Heat 11 - Laurent and Filippi advance

13:52 Kiefer Quintana will move into the lead after landing a backloop.

13:48 Girl's U21 Final III now sailing - Kiefer Quintana vs Lale vs Wermeister vs Morales

13:46 Result Boy's U21 Final - 1st Stathopoulos 2nd Kiefer Quintana 3rd Richter 4th Ferraro

13:45 End of Heat

13:44 Kiefer Quintana lands a regular backloop too, but he'll need more than that...

13:42 Into the last few minutes of this one...

13:34 Kiefer Quintana opens with a double forward. Stathopoulos tries to follow suit, but sails away very wet. Meanwhile, Richter opens with a backloop.

13:31 Result U21 Girl's Final II - 1st Kiefer Quintana 2nd Morales 3rd Wermeister 4th Lale

13:30 End of Heat

13:29 Kiefer Quintana surely secures the victory as she hits a solid ramp and flies through a beautiful backloop. Judges liked it - 7.25 points.

13:28 Big backloop from Kiefer Quintana for her second jump score - landed a little wet, but that'll give her plenty of breathing room again - 5.75 - points and surely too late for Morales to deny her now.

13:26 Morales lands a forward loop to move to within just 0.38 of a point of Kiefer Quintana, but she has yet to land her second jump.

13:24 At about the halfway stage Kiefer Quintana leads again after winning the opening final earlier today. Wermeister was in second place, but Morales has just landed a nice backloop to move into second place.

13:20 Conditions starting to look more difficult now with the tide getting quite high, so the waves are getting fatter and fatter, which is making riding and jumping more challenging.

13:19 Kiefer Quintana kicks things off with a forward loop.

13:16 Result U21 Boy's Heat 6 - Kiefer Quintana and Ferraro advance into the final.

12:06 Sick vert frontside air from Kiefer Quintana to extend his lead - 4.38 points.

12:04 Expect to see Carlos Kiefer Quintana dominate this one with the local boy finishing joint 13th in the main draw - he opens with a perfect stalled forward - 4.5 points.

12:01 Result U21 Boy's Heat 2 - Richter and Alonso advance

11:46 Result Boy's U21 Heat 1 - Stathopoulos and Ferraro advance.

11:26 Into the final third of the first U21 Girl's Final and it's Kiefer Quintana and Morales in the top two, which isn't a big surprise given how they both generally perform in the pro fleet.

11:15 End of Heat

11:12 Friedl did temporarily take the lead after dropping his best wave score, but Gobisch then lands a backloop to regain the lead by a few points.

11:11 Gobisch continues to lead - even though he hasn't landed his second jump yet - so if he does land his second wave he'll be in real control of the final. However, as it stands just one point separates him and Friedl.

11:08 Gobisch comes from last to first after landing a good pushloop and linking together the best wave of the heat - 6.5 points.

11:07 Friedl gets his second jump with a pushloop.

11:05 Nice backloop from Friedl by the bunker - 5 points and he curently leads ahead of Viscovich.

10:41 Heading into the final quarter of this heat and it's reigning world champion Miike Friedl and Lanese currently on course for the final. It's very close though, so still time for Mazzetti or Gobisch to force their way into the top two.

Good morning welcome to Day 7 of the Gran Canaria World Cup, which promises to provide a solid day of action. After a couple of lighter wind days, by Pozo's standards at least, it looks like we are back to regular programming with it already being fully windy this morning. The tide is still quite low, so hopefully with the tide on the push we'll get some decent waves to go with it. Skippers' meeting coming up at 9:30am with a first possible start at 10am.
