19:04 Skye makes a couple of turns, but the wind is looking quite sketchy.
19:03 Gobisch with a nice hit on the outside. Fernanadez makes a couple of good turns and then goes down. Gobisch and Fernandez both pick up set waves and make a couple of turns. Fernandez is coming into the beach. Martin picks up his first wave of the heat and he links a couple of turns before pulling a goiter.
18:57 Fernandez opens with a few frontside hits. Skye also connects with a couple of frontside smacks. Martin has abandoned his kit and swimming against the rip to try and get bigger kit.

17:07 Martin finds a nice section and gets nice and vertical - then milks the whitewater. Martin with a couple of small frontside hits.
17:01 Fernandez opens with a good aggressive frontside hack whilst Skye just over does his first wave, before linking together a few good slashes. Fernandez picks up a good set wave and puts together a few turns.
16:55 Heat 2 is now sailing - Skye vs Martin & Fernandez vs Gobisch
16:53 Bjornaa with a backside hit and two frontside turns. Browne with a nice foam climb and then a few more turns on the whitewater. Bruch with just one foam climb and then on the next wave he tries to milk the whitewater.
16:47 Bjornaa connects with a good opening hit. Browne just overdoes it on his last turn after two nice aggressive hits. Bruch with a really nice vertical smack. Mauch with one really nice slash before the wave falls away on him. Browne with a big frontside smack on a big section which he backs up with a few more good turns. Bruch with a really vertical hit.
16:41 Bruch opens with a few very quick frontside turns. Mauch links a few frontside wave slashes. Browne selects a good first wave but it just closes out on him after the first turn. Bruch with a nice climb up the whitewater. Browne links a couple of fluid turns before finishing off the wave with a backside 360.

Results Heat C - Volwater and Baldyga advance
16:33 Volwater connects three frontside hacks on a decent wave, whilst Baldyga also pulls off two more good hits. Baldyga goes for a frontside wave 360 but just falls out the back of the wave. Big frontside hit from Baldyga.
16:27 Baldyga nice and vertical frontside hit on a good section. Volwater with a couple of frontside smacks. Kleingarn with one frontside turn before pulling off the wave.
16:21 Volwater launches into a backloop on the outside even though it won't count. Volwater currently leads the heat with Baldgya in second.

16:04 Gobisch pulls a nice frontside air. Mauch combines a few frontside hacks with two backside floats on the whitewater, the German is leading the heat at the moment with Gobisch in second.

15:55 The wind looks lighter now but with plenty of time left in the heat the heat carries on,

Results Heat B - Rydberg and Pijoan advance into the main draw.

15:47 Weber links a few small turns. Pijoan with one nice frontside hit. Weber with a couple of small turns over the whitewater to end the heat.
15:42 Weber goes frontside but doesn't make his turn. Weber then floats over the whitewater on his next wave. Pijoan with a decent sized wave and Rydberg links a couple of nice frontside hacks too. Rydberg attempts a taka. Weber finds a nice section but he goes down.
15:36 Pijoan with one frontside turn on a small wave, but then it closes out on him.
15:32 Stefan Gobisch is not sailing in the heat due to injury, so there's just three sailors in this heat.

14:51 Naalisvaara opens with a couple of turns. Gobisch picks up a wave but goes down on his initial turn. Mauch selects a nice wave hitting the critical section. Friis with a small opening wave, but doesn't amount to much. Gobisch selects a good wave which reforms for him after a couple of turns - good wave.

Good morning and welcome to a very early start to day two. It's still almost pitch black at the moment, but unfortunately the forecast doesn't seem to be on track as the wind is very light to begin with here in Cold Hawaii - hopefully that changes.
