16:59 Results Heat 27 - Browne and Mussolini advance. The two sailors who remain in the title race keep their hopes alive to setup a grandstand finale for tomorrow.
16:57 Matt Pritchard with a backside fade into a aggressive top turn. KP floats over the lip into a tweaked aerial. Browne picks up a set wave, and he delivers with a vertical first turn into a perfectly exectured air taka - 8.65 points to move into the lead. Mussolini sees the section and he lines up for an aerial, but bails whilst in the air.
16:54 Setup turn from Browne straight into a nice tweaked aerial, but he can't quite land his taka. KP goes for a big frontside 3 but he lands behind the wave. Nice tweaked aerial straight into a one-handed air from Mussolini - who looks in the groove. Browne fighting back with a setup turn into an amazing fully planing air taka and a back up hack. His last wave sees him jump into the top two, keeping his title hopes a live for the title - 7.5 points for his last wave. Mussolini also advancing at the moment.

16:37 Ezzy looked like he was going to complete a really smooth taka, but he just loses it! Swift winds up for another goitre, but he can't make it. Campello knows he had to go big and he pulls an air taka off a smaller wave. Ezzy goes for a one-handed tala, but slides out the back to end the heat.
16:34 Angulo with a one-handed aerial straight into another air. Really vertical slash from Campello and an aerial to improve his best wave score. Angulo comes in to change his gear, the wind is dropping back. Ezzy pulls off a frontside wave 360, but doesn't have much to back it up unfortunately. Swift with another solid wave. Nice initial hit from Angulo but then it closes out on him. Ezzy gybes off his wave with 3 minutes to go.
16:29 Aggressive slashes from Angulo and then he boosts an aerial, but his boom drops to the bottom of the cut out! Ezzy with a couple of hits and a little aerial. Campello almost lands a no-footed goiter, accidental but amazing all the same! Campello so close to a perfect goiter, but the lack of wind sees him slip off the back of the wave. Ezzy also lines up for a goiter, but he can't quite hold onto it.
16:24 Big gouge from Campello to open the heat. Swift with a vertical hit into a tweaked aerial. Ezzy on a smaller wave to get his name on the board with a few hacks. Swift sets up with an opening turn before racing down the line and launching into a big goiter.

Mussolini mixes it up and carves into the critical section of the wave before pulling of a frontside wave 360. Fernandez trying his best to keep his title challenge alive but he can't quite sail away from a sick air taka attempt. Juban with a nice tweaked aerial.
15:54 Swift nails a massive goiter!!! Mussolini responds with a goiter attempt of his own, but the Spaniard can't quite make his. Fernandez looks for a big taka, but he just slides out the back of the wave, really unlucky! Big opening hack from Juban, but then the wave closes out for him. Mussolini races down the line and launches into an aerial which he backs up with a solid turn. Big gouging turn from Swift straight into another turn and then he pulls off another brilliant goiter - The Brit is on fire!

15:37 Traversa tries upping his game as he attempts an air taka but he can't pull it off. Nice vertical slash from Campello and then fully releases the fins on his next turn. Browne winds up for another goiter, but he doesn't make it this time. Nice opening hack from Traversa, but he can't pull off his goiter, he knew he needed to go big.

Browne on fire and he throws a brilliant air taka / goiter straight into another turn - 8.35 points from the judges.

14:55 Swift going at full speed attempts a goiter, but he lands behind the wave. Katchadourian launches into another aerial which he backs up with a whitewater hit. Guilloul finds a wave that opens up for him allowing four solid turns. Nice, powerful, vertical top turn from Swift.

14:38 Juban on fire now as he smacks the lip sending the spray flying before through another goiter. Voget ends with a one-handed aerial.
14:35 Motohashi lands a tweaked aerial. Juban with three solid turns, he's in command of this heat right now. Campello with three good turns, but he doesn't quite make his goiter. Juban finds the perfection for a goiter and duly delivers right in front of Campello.
14:30 Juban with a powerful first turn which he backs up with a couple more hacks. Motohashi sending the spray flying with a two agrressive turns and an aerial. Campello with Powerful gouging turn, but then the wave unforunately closes out on him. Voget with his best wave of the heat, one nice top turn and a well executed aerial. Campello flies down the line and unleashes a fully planing goiter, which he backs up with on hack in the whitewater.
14:25 Juban opens with a fluid long wave consisting of several turns. On his next turn Juban throws a nice aerial. Voget is swimming for his gear after going down on his wave.

14:19 Results Heat 21 - Browne and Fernandez advance. Browne achieves the highest scores of the day so far and he keeps himself in the title hunt!

14:15 Browne goes for a one-handed taka again, just misses it! Fernandez with more vertical turns, not on a set wave though.Denel with probably his best wave of the heat so far as he links a gouging initial turn with an aerial and a snappy turn over the whitewater.
Results Heat 20 - Traversa and Mussolini advance - keeping both of their title hopes alive for the time being.
14:10 Brawzinho goes for a one-handed air taka, agonisingly close to stomping it. On his next wave Browne goes for the air taka again and he claims it this time around! Fernandez right under the lip and he hits it, finishing with a little aerial. Fernandez with a powerful vertical hit and a smooth taka.
14:05 Browne over rotates on a goiter. Fernandez with the best wave thus far. Hauser picks up a set wave and tweaks an aerial, then milking the whitewater. Browne with several excellent turns topping it off with an effortless taka.

13:58 Traversa with a superb wave as he combines two fluid top and bottom turns with a tweaked aerial. Naish with two powerful turns and then a really late hit which throws him into an aerial. Mussolini backs up a nicely executed aerial with a couple of solid turns. Traversa nails a one-handed rail grab aerial. Mussolini attempts a goiter, but he doesn't make it.
13:52 Faurot with a smooth initial turn and a floater. Mussolini busts another smooth aerial. Traversa with a nice setup turn and then rotates through a big goiter, which he hangs on to! Faurot's last move moves him into the top two, Mussolini needs to respond if he wants to keep his title charge in his own hands.
13:46 Huge aerial from Mussolini, who's making his charge to claim his maiden first world title. Naish with a tweaked air and also a perfect pushloop, which won't count. Naish with plenty of speed and he delivers a few powerful slashes. Traversa does well to hold onto an aerial. Mussolini responds with a good wave of his own, finishing it off with a nice aerial.

13:38 Hauser with an aerial. Goya with a trademark vertical top turn, but goes down on his next turn. Voget straight off the lip but then the wave closes out on him. Jamaer goes down hard, just a touch late on his turn and he gets punished.
13:31 Jamaer with a big floaty aerial and he stomps it. Hauser goes down hard and gets worked by the whitewater.

Traversa with three fluid turns, well timed as always from the Frenchman.

Good morning and welcome to day eight of the JP Aloha Classic - Presented by Nalu Kai - today could see the 2013 PWA Wave World Champion decided with high pressured heats right from the word go. For example our reigning World Champion Philip Köster knows that if he doesn't make it through his extremely tough opening heat against Victor Fernandez, Ricardo Campello and Laurent Guillemin, then we will have a new World Champion for 2013. As things currently stand Alex Mussolini is currently leading and obviously if the current top seven fail to progress from their opening heats then the Spaniard will be on top of the world! Today promises to be a very exciting day with plenty of enthralling heats. Skippers meeting coming up at 10am.
