17:00 That's it for day one of the PWA Catalunya World Cup here in Costa Brava. The action will resume tomorrow from 10am with the skippers' meeting, first possible start at 10:30am. The Skippers' meeting tomorrow morning will be at 10am with the first possible start at 10:30am. 16:38 Z flag is now up on the committee boat, the sailors are on the way back to the beach. 16:33 Heat 10 is now sailing - Good start from Moussilmani S. Questel, Menegatti, Vonk and Moussilmani S. They've all stopped at the first mark with the lack of wind. AP Flag is up for the time being. 16:31 The heat has been cancelled due to a drop in the wind - Dagan won't be pleased as he had a big lead at the front. 16:29 - Heat 9 is now sailing - Costa Hoevel with the best start in the first quarterfinal. Dagan leads at the first then Allen, Costa Hoevel and then it's a slow exit for the remaining sailors. Maynard and Quentel battle on the exit, but Quentel just gets the upper hand for fourth. 16:29 Results Heat 8 - 1st Albeau 2nd Toselli 3rd Williams 4th Kiani. 16:28 Albeau goes past Toselli on the final straight after pumping out the gybe. 16:27 Toselli has opened up good lead by the second followed by Albeau, Kiani and Williams, who all look safe like the last heat. 16:24 Heat 8 is now sailing - Pare with a good start. Into the first it's Toselli ahead of Albeau, Kiani and Williams in the top four for now.  16:24 Results Heat 7 - 1st Buzianis 2nd Bouman 3rd Le Guen 4th Angulo - No Place for Volwater in the next round after finishing 5th. 16:22 Buzianis still leads ahead of Bouman, Le Guen and Angulo - Looks as though that's how the heat will finish barring disaster for any of the current top four. 16:20 Heat 7 is now sailing - Le Guen with a good start. Buzianis now leads after the first gybe followed by Bouman, Le Guen and Angulo. 16:19 Results Heat 6 - 1st Jossin 2nd Frans 3rd Moussilmani B 4th Moussilmani C - Dunkerbeck misses out, eventually finishing in sixth place behind Ania. 16:17 At the third it's Jossin in the lead ahead of Frans, Moussilmani B and Moussilmani C, Dunkerbeck is currently in fifth with quite a bit of work to do to make it into the top four. 16:14 Heat 6 is now sailing - Jossin makes the best start followed closely by Taty Frans. Frans leads into the first mark then it's Jossin, Moussilmani B and Dunkerbeck. Cyril Moussilmani goes past Dunkerbeck on the exit though. 16:12 Results Heat 5 - 1st Van Der Steen 2nd Mortefon 3rd Lang 4th Ferin - Van Der Steen with a comfortable victory in that one.  16:11 Van Der Steen and Mortefon have opened up a decent lead at the front. Lang in third and Ferin still fourth. 16:09 Heat 5 is now sailing - Schenk with a good start. Van Der Steen leads by the first followed by Lang, Mortefon and Ferin. 16:04 Heat 5 is now in countdown sequence, the crew were just making a slight adjustment to the course. 16:03 Results Heat 4 - 1st Menegatti 2nd Kordel 3rd Vonk 4th Bordes 16:02 Menegatti cruising then Kordel, Vonk and Bordes. Diaz misses out. Menegatti had to slow right down as he wasn't 100% sure which side of the finish buoy to cross the line. He still wins though. 16:00 Menegatti still holds the lead by the third followed by Kordel, Diaz and Vonk, who switch places on the exit. Bordes now involved in that battle for fourth now. Diaz currently down into fifth. 15:58 Heat 4 is now sailing - Bordes nails his start. Menegatti leads by the first followed by Vonk, Bordes. Kordel in fourth. 15:58 Results Heat 3 - 1st Iachino 2nd Moussilmani S 3rd Questel 4th Reuscher 15:56 Into the third it's Iachino, Sylvain Moussilmani, Questel , Yilmazer and Reuscher battling hard for fourth place. Reuscher goes past Yilmazer on the exit.  15:54 Heat 3 is now sailing - Pressler with the best start. 15:54 Results Heat 2 - 1st Dagan 2nd Rosati 3rd Quentel 4th Maynard 15:53 At the third it's Dagan in the lead ahead of Rosati, Maynard and Quentel in the lead. 15:50 At the first mark it's Maynard followed by Quentel and Dagan then Rosati. 15:50 Results Heat 1 - 1st Cousin 2nd Allen 3rd Costa Hoevel 4th O'Brien 15:49 Heat 2 is now sailing - Rosati makes the best start of the bunch. 15:49 Cousin crosses the line in first place followed by Allen, Costa Hoevel and O'Brien. 15:47 Cousin with a decent lead by the third, Allen and Costa Hoevel very tight for 2nd and 3rd with Allen edging it right now. O'Brien with the final qualifying spot at the moment. 15:46 Cousin still leads at the first followed by Allen and Costa Hoevel. Poltenstein goes down though. 15:44 Heat 1 is now sailing - Allen and Cousin make the best starts of the remaining sailors. At the first mark it's Cousin leads ahead of Allen and Costa Hoevel. 15:39 Heat 1 is now sailing again - General Recall again - Marotti goes over early this time around. Difficult to time the starts perfectly with the marginal wind, just 6 sailors remaining in Heat 1 now. 15:36 Heat 1 is now back in countdown sequence  15:34 Heat 1 is now sailing - General Recall on the first start of the season - Messiaen goes over early and is disqualified. 15:30 Heat 1 is now in countdown sequence. 15:23 The wind still looks good with 7 minutes to go until the red flag for heat 1.  15:15 The wind has increased slightly over the last 15 minutes with readings of 9-12 knots meaning heat 1 will be starting at 3:30pm. 15:00 The wind remains marginal with readings of 5-9 knots. It's been a largely hazy and overcast start to the day here in Costa Brava. There's a light southerly wind of 9 knots predicted for this afternoon, which will hopefully build with local effects.
