Fly! ANA Yokosuka, Miura Windsurf World Cup

Day 1: A chilly and light wind start to proceedings sees competitors on hold with racing is set to get underway on Friday with a promising forecast

The opening day of the 2025 Fly! ANA Yokosuka, Miura Windsurf World Cup saw exceptionally chilly conditions and dreary grey skies, which meant the racers remained on hold after the conclusion of registration and the official opening ceremony, which was held at 13:00. During the morning there were some gusts, which tempted some sailors out for a last minute tune up, but unfortunately as the afternoon progressed the wind slowly dropped as predicted.

Looking Ahead

The good news is that after a quiet opening day, the forecast for Friday looks very promising with 10-14 knot northeasterly winds and clearer skies currently predicted, which should see the opening races of the event completed. You can see the latest WindGuru forecast HERE
