Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport
The center of transportation to Çesme is Izmir (80 km). Çesme does not have an airport. Therefore, you must fly to Izmir Adnan Menderes (ADB) Airport which handles some direct international scheduled and charter flights. If you cannot find direct flight to Izmir , you may first land to Istanbul Atatürk Airport and fly from Istanbul to Izmir . Istanbul Atatürk Airport is the largest in the country and is very busy with flights from many destinations around world. As well as being the hub for international flights, its domestic terminal is the center of the domestic flight network. The duration of the flight from Istanbul to Izmir takes about an hour.
Transfer to the City Center
HAVAS (a private company which provides transportation from the airport to the city center by buses) runs transfer services to the city center where you can have other other available transportation options for Cesme. The journey with HAVAS buses takes nearly 50 minutes and the tickets cost about 5-7 €. HAVAS buses departs from the airport in every 30 minutes
By Cesme Minibuses
There are minibuses from Üçkuyular Bus Station to Çesme in every 20 minutes between 6 am-9.30 pm The minibus tickets cost about 7- 10 €. You can take a taxi from the airport to reach Üçkuyular Bus Station which costs about 15 € and takes only 20 minutes.
Important: The currency used in Turkey is New Turkish Lira. It is recommended to exchange your money before your departure because as soon as you land in Turkey you will be asked to pay in New Turkish Lira for your city transfer. There is also an exchange office available at the Izmir airport.
